For the first time in 15 years, Maserati has unveiled a new supercar, the Maserati MC20.

The MC20, the successor to the MC12, is 100% made in Italy and marks a new era for the renowned luxury car brand. The MC20 is the flagship of Maserati’s “rebirth strategy” that will set them apart from other luxury car brands and see them releasing ten new models by 2023.

Not only is the MC20 a stunner, but it is also a driver’s dream. With F1 engine efficiency technology, the MC 20’s Italian engineered engine of 621 horsepower reaches a top speed of 202mph and has an interior that is designed around the driver.

Italian Motorsport Engineering Triumphs Again

The MC20 is powered by an all-new twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine, the “Nettuno” (Neptune in Italian), which Maserati calls “Maserati Twin Combustion.” The engine operates as a standard combustion gasoline engine. However, it can send a small amount of fuel to a pre-chamber and the rest of it into the cylinder through small holes along the wall. This design results in the gas being burned more efficiently because, by combusting a small amount of fuel first, thermal efficiency is boosted due to the fuel being distributed more evenly.

This supercar does 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds and 0-124mph in 8.8 seconds!

The stylish ergonomics of the MC20 are completed by the butterfly doors, which allow for optimum access in and out of the cabin. The MC20 is also a lightweight supercar weighing in with a curb-side weight less than 1,500kg.

The cabin is driver-oriented, and each component serves a purpose. It has a 10-inch screen in the cockpit and another for the Maserati Multimedia System (MIA). The central console is clad with carbon fiber. It has a wireless smartphone charger, two-speed selection buttons, driving mode selector (Wet, Sport, GT, Corsa, Sport, and ESC off), power window controls, controls for the multimedia system, and a nifty compartment for storage under the armrest.

The other controls are all on the steering wheel, and the MC20 is continuously connected with the Maserati Connect program, which features services like Alexa, navigation, and a wifi hotspot, which you can manage with the Maserati Connect app for smartphones or smartwatches.

In true Italian style, the MC20 is available in six stunning new colors explicitly developed for this car: Giallo Genio (yellow), Bianco Audace (white), Blu Infinito (blue), Rosso Vincente (red), Nero Enigma (black), and Grigio Mistero (grey).
