If you are looking for your next luxury SUV, look no further than a Maserati SUV.

Maserati SUV vehicles are the epitome of luxury. Maserati offers two SUV vehicles in its model lineup: The Grecale and the Levante. Each SUV offers a different feel of the Maserati brand. Today we will compare both models at length. By the end of this article, you will be better prepared to know which Maserati SUV is right for you.

Maserati Levante SUV

To begin, let’s start with Maserati’s first foray into the sport utility market. Maserati first debuted the Maserati Levante in March 2016. Prior to this, Maserati focused on its sedan and convertible vehicles. Of course, the Levante shares its platform with the Ghibli and the Quattroporte. Maserati designed the Levante with elements from other historic Maserati vehicles. For example, the grill is based on the Tipo 60 Birdcage of the 1960s. At first, Maserati unveiled the Levante as the Kubang in 2011. Unfortunately, Maserati delayed Levante’s debut until 2016 and unveiled with the new name.

When Maserati launched the Levante , it was an instant success. Accordingly, midsize SUVs gained popularity in recent years. Drivers began opting for smaller and more fuel efficient vehicles. The Levante received instant praise from auto critics who lauded its Italian elegance, handling, sound system, power, and agility. The Levante comes in four different trim levels: GT, Modena, Modena S, and the Trofeo. Depending on which trim level you choose, the Levante can reach 580 horsepower. The GT and Modena trims have a 3.0L V6 engine while the Modena S and Trofeo trims feature a 3.8L V8 engine.

The Levante maintains the Maserati luxury aesthetic that the brand is known for. Maserati artisans designed the Levante with the most exquisite Italian leather and other hand stitched details throughout the cabin. It also features a number of convenience features such as remote start, trunk with kick sensor, and four-zone climate controls.

The Levante starts at $79,400 MSRP.

Maserati Grecale

The Grecale is Maserati’s newest SUV in the range. Maserati unveiled the new Grecale during a live stream event in March 2022. The newest compact SUV has many best-in-class features. The Grecale comes standard with 296hp and all-wheel drive. There will be an electric Folgore version released later in the year. The Trofeo version tops out at a whopping 523hp. Reports from Maserati state that the Grecale is expected to reach top speeds of 177mph.

The new Grecale has best-in-class legroom and rear space. The Grecale can accommodate 20 cubic feet of cargo space, perfect for storing everything your family needs. The new Grecale features Level 2 advanced driving systems such as heads-up display and lane assist. Inside the cabin, you will find two screens to control the ambience of your Grecale. Currently, the Grecale is only available for pre-order in a limited edition Modena launch version.

The Grecale SUV starts at $64,995 MSRP. For more information regarding the Grecale launch, check out our post on the launch.
